Fun ways to celebrate Halloween with your pet

Halloween is just around the corner!

This year Halloween is gonna be special and different, for two main reasons: first of all, the Hunter’s Moon, a full moon, will rise on Halloween night, making it extra spooky. This celestial event happens on Halloween only once every 20 years, so that makes Halloween 2020 extra cool.

Second of all, due to what is happening this year, Halloween will probably be more virtual, or celebrated within the family, instead of the big, crazy parties, or the traditional trick-or-treating around the block.

So, if you’re planning to stay in with your loved ones and your pet, we’ve made a fun list of activities that you can enjoy together with your doggo or kitty:

1. Watch a Spooky movie together

Why not start the night with a scary movie, together with your pup or lazy cat. Cuddle together on the sofa and let the scares begin! Cuddling with your pet always brings comfort, so it will also make a scary movie less scary. Come on, don’t be a scaredy-cat (yes, I just made a Halloween pun!).

2. Make some Halloween themed pet toys

Your furry friend deserves cool toys and on Halloween what is cooler than a spooky toy? You can make it your own little DIY project and use some old T-shirts, gloves, felt or socks, or you can just buy a new toy from the pet shop.

3. Hide and Seek? How about Hide and Treat instead?

You can organize a fun game of Hide and Treat for your doggo and let him sharpen his sniffing tools! Hide different tasty treats around the house or in the backyard and let the fun times begin. It’s a great way to bond further with your furry companion and if you have kids, they will love playing around the house and forget about not going to trick-or-treat this year.

4. Carve A Pet Pumpkin

This is more for you, rather than for your pet, but what is more festive than carving a pumpkin? This year we’re proposing you carve a pet pumpkin, as a tribute to your lovely furry friend. You can carve pawprints, bones or even the face of your pawsome pooch or curious cat.

5. Halloween Costumes Dress Up

This one’s only if you know your pet is comfortable with wearing a costume. If they hate it or become stressed out, then don’t force them. As cute as they might look in Halloween costumes, their mental health is more important.

But if they do enjoy a bit of dressing up, you can have so much fun pairing your costume with your pet’s. Here are some fun ideas: Little Red Riding Hood & the Big Bad Wolf ( surprise everybody and switch ‘em up), Daenerys ( the famous GOT character) & a little cute and fluffy dragon, Beauty & the Beast, Cruella Deville & one of the 101 Dalmatians, Shaggy & Scooby, Shrek & Puss in boots, oh and the fun could be never ending!

Now I’m super curios of how you’re gonna celebrate Halloween this year! You have all you need to make it a memorable celebration, together with your feline or pup!
