Halloween is just around the corner! Due to what is happening this year, Halloween will be a mix of being virtual, or celebrated within the family, in addition to the traditional trick-or-treating around the block. If you fall into the former bucket, we at Angry Orange have just the solution to help you make the best of Halloween with your furry friends!

Five Festive Ways to Celebrate Halloween With Your Pet

If you’re planning to stay in with your loved ones and your pet, we’ve made a fun list of activities that you can enjoy together with your doggo or kitty:

1. Watch a spooky movie together

Why not start the night with a scary movie, together with your pup or lazy cat. Cuddle together on the sofa and let the scares begin! Cuddling with your pet always brings comfort, so it will also make a scary movie less scary. Come on, don’t be a scaredy-cat (yes, I just made a Halloween pun!).

2. Make some Halloween themed pet toys

Your furry friend deserves cool toys and on Halloween what is cooler than a spooky toy? You can make it your own little DIY project and use some old T-shirts, gloves, felt or socks, or you can just buy a new toy from the pet shop.

3. Hide and Seek? How about Hide and Treat instead?

You can organize a fun game of Hide and Treat for your doggo and let him sharpen his sniffing tools! Hide different tasty treats around the house or in the backyard and let the fun times begin. It’s a great way to bond further with your furry companion and if you have kids, they will love playing around the house and forget about not going to trick-or-treat this year.

4. Carve a pet pumpkin

This is more for you, rather than for your pet, but what is more festive than carving a pumpkin? This year we’re proposing you carve a pet pumpkin, as a tribute to your lovely furry friend. You can carve paw-prints, bones or even the face of your paw-some pooch or curious cat.

5. Halloween costume dress up

This one’s only if you know your pet is comfortable with wearing a costume. If they hate it or become stressed out, then don’t force them. As cute as they might look in Halloween costumes, their mental health is more important. But if they do enjoy a bit of dressing up, you can have so much fun pairing your costume with your pet’s.

Here are some fun ideas:

  • Little Red Riding Hood & the Big Bad Wolf
  • Daenerys (the famous GOT character) and a little cute and fluffy dragon
  • Beauty & The Beast
  • Cruella Deville and one of the 101 Dalmatians
  • Shaggy and Scooby
  • Shrek and Puss in Boots, oh and the fun could be never ending!
